Smoothie Lovin'

Smoothies are a year long treat, but especially enjoyable during the summer heat.  Today I basked in the sun for an hour and all I wanted was a nice, cold strawberry smoothie in hand.  So when I came home later that day, I whipped up a smoothie with all the ingredients I could muster up!

Generally, I don't follow a recipe in making a smoothie.  I am a firm believer in full expression when it comes to food.  And while I would not get my feelings hurt with other people tweaking the recipes (actually, I would strongly encourage it!) I am still going to provide the "recipe" I used for my afternoon drink!
  • 3-7 fresh strawberries (with the stems)
  • 1 whole banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen berries (I freeze my own if I can)
  • 1/4 cup frozen peaches (also self-frozen)
  • 1 tbsp. Motts Natural Applesauce
  • 1 tbsp. whole flaxseeds
  • 1/4-1 cup water
Obviously, you may add or remove some of the ingredients, however, I would consider this a pretty solid smoothie.  It has great immune supporting fruits, a protein fix (without protein powder) and a delicious base (which switches up the normal yogurt that is in most smoothies)

Pulse this on high for a few seconds and viola!
Bon Apetite!

Love,
Caroline
